[15:48PDT]

We were up by 04:30 (BST) this morning. Drive to Heathrow took us through London (and the congestion charge) but the traffic wasn't too bad, we arrived at 07:20, within 1 hour 15 minutes, 5 minutes later than TomTom had estimated.

Check-in was smooth and we were in the lounge by 08:00. Linda sat still for all of 10 minutes before fleeing to the duty free!

Kerching! First bag of shopping filled !!!

Heavy rain passed over us whilst we waited to be called, but fortunately it had passed before we left.

Flight left almost 45 minutes late, taking off at 11:45.

The flight itself was uneventful. Had time to watch a couple of films (Iron Man, Kung-Fu Panda) get some sleep and listen to some music.

A fierce tail wind ment that we actually arrived 30 minutes ahead of the expected landing time of 2pm PDT (10PM BST).

We were through immigration quite quickly and amazingly, the first cases hadn't completed a full lap of the carousel before our cases had appeared!

Taxi to the hotel and we're now in the room, third floor. $14 per day for internet - ouch!

Sun is shining outside, it's not too hot though. A little hazy in the distance.

Despite feeling tired, we're only half way though the afternoon, so we're going to go for a walk and grab something to eat.

[20:24 PDT]

Back in the hotel after a walk along the Fishermans Wharf area. The temperature dropped quite a bit as the sun started setting. We'd popped into a local iHop for a bite to eat, but we went back to the hotel to pick up jackets before we went walking.

We walked down to the Ghirardelli Square area and, of course, picked up a couple of choccies.

We've now been on the go for 24 hours. Linda's already out cold on the bed. Think she has the right idea!
