Flat Iron Steak with Balsamic Glaze

Serves 3

1 flat iron steak, about 1 1/4 lbs

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp favourite all-purpose seasons for steak (like Montreal Steak seasoning)

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder and steak seasoning. Place steaks on a plate and rub seasoning mixture onto both sides of the steak. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, pour balsamic vinegar into a small pot and boil for about 5 minutes to reduce.  Once it sticks to a spoon, it's thick enough.

Heat skillet over high heat, and sear on each side and cook until desired doneness. Put on a plate and drizzle balsamic glaze over top.  Serve.
