Makes 4 sandwiches
A block of tempeh
1/2 tbsp liquid smoke
1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tomatoes, sliced
lettuce
2 avocados, mashed
1 tbsp lemon juice (or more to taste)
Salt and pepper
garlic butter or mayonnaise
sliced, picked hot peppers
Bread or ciabatta buns
Slice the tempeh lengthwise. Place in frying pan with liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Cook until liquid is going. Set aside to prepare the rest.
Mash avocados, add lemon juice, salt and pepper. Taste and adjust as needed.
On bread, smear smashed avocado on one side and the garlic butter/mayonnaise on the other. Add tomatoes, hot pepperss and lettuce to sandwhich. Then add tempeh and serve.
