John's Scallops Bubbly Bake

1 lb scallops 

2 tbsp butter 

½ cup diced celery 

½ diced green pepper 

½ cup diced onion 

1 can of sliced mushrooms 

White Sauce 

½ cup melted butter 

¼ cup flour 

1 tsp salt 

2 cups heated milk 

Thaw scallops and separate them, sprinkle with salt and sauté in butter. 

Make white sauce. Melt butter, add flour, salt, heated milk, and cook until thick. 

In a pan, with vegetables, add scallops and cover. Cook for 5 minutes. Add scallops and veggies to white sauce. Place in greased 1 ½ quart casserole dish. Top with bettered bread crumbs. 

Bake 30 minutes at 350. Serve over rice.
