Pan-Asian Grilled Steak Salad

Serves 2

2 tbsp plus 4 tsp teriyaki sauce

1 8-10 oz sirloin steak

3 tbsp peanut oil

2 tbsp fresh lime juice

1 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp grated lime peel

2 cups shredded Napa cabbage or other green cabbage

1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion

2 tbsp slivered fresh mint

Coat steak in 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce, sprinkle with pepper and let stand 10 minutes.  

Meanwhile, whisk oil, lime juice, brown sugar, grated lime peel and remaining 4 tsp of teriyaki sauce in small bowl and blend. Season dressing with salt and pepper. Transfer half the dressing to a bowl, mix in cabbage, red onion and mint.  Divide the cabbage mixture onto two plates.

Grill steaks, about 5 minutes per side for medium rare.  Once done, slice and place over cabbage mixture.  Drizzle remaining dressing and any steak juices over salad and serve.
