Simple Tomato Sauce with Butter
Serves 4
Prep time: 1 hour
2 one ounce can whole tomatoes (San Marzano)
2 medium onions, cut into quarters
8 tbsp butter
Put tomatoes, onions, and butter in large sauce pan over medium heat. When tomatoes begin to bubble, lower heat to slow but steady simmer. Mash any large bits of tomatoes. Cook until sauce is no longer watery (about 45 minutes). Discard onion and serve over pasta.
