Serves 2
16 oz (450g) tempeh, sliced
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
4 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbps maple syrup
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ginger, grated
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Marinate tempeh slices for 30 minutes.
Heat olive oil in pan over medium heat. Cook tempeh for 3-4 minutes on each side, until carmelized.
Pour remaining marinade into skillet and simmer until it thickens into a glaze, coating the tempeh.Â
Serve with sesame seed and green onions for garnish
