LI: We are learning to edit our information reports
SC: I will be successful if I focus on my show don’t tell, ban the boring and ending with impact editing
Information Report Editing
Today’s focus:
Show don’t tell
Ban the boring
Ending with impact
Today we will be spending the time editing our information report drafts. This will include:
Correcting punctuation (capital letters, full stops, quotation marks)
Analysing our sentence structure and making sure it makes sense
You may even want to add in more important information or facts you have gained recently
I would recommend that you focus on these Seven Steps techniques while editing:
Have you included some show don’t tell techniques?
Does the show don’t tell describe you information by using the senses or giving the information from another person’s point of view?
Have you banned the boring?
Is your information important and does it move the report along in a stimulating way?
Is your ending exciting?
·Have you included some ending with impact techniques?
We really would like you to upload your work so we can analyse the techniques you have used into your information report and give you some valuable feedback!
