LI: We are learning to develop our writing ideas by creating a writing seed
Activity 1
Powerful Word Jar
Just like usual, we will be starting the week off by writing a Seed in our Writer’s Notebooks.
Today’s Seed will involve creating your own ‘Powerful Word Jar’. Your task will be to draw a glass jar which you will include creative, emotive and descriptive words into.
These words will be powerful words which can then be included into your writing to evoke emotion and describe the scene for the reader.
Below is an example of mine! You’re more than welcome to use a few examples that I have included.
You may also want to create fancy fonts to suit the meaning of your words!
Activity 2
Writers Workshop
Once the Powerful Word Jar seed has been completed, we can now move onto our Writer’s Workshop. This Writer’s Workshop may look a little different now we are at home. You still have the freedom to write what you wish, but we still expect you to take pride in your work.
Here are a few things we expect you to follow while creating your writing piece:
- Freedom to write what you wish
- Taking pride in your work
- Writing in a peaceful and quiet environment (you could work outside in the sunshine, listen to some music if it helps you think etc.)
- Following the Seven Steps and the Writing Process
This is also a fantastic opportunity to upload your work and receive some conferencing notes from your teacher!
