Introduction:
Follow along with Mrs Greenhalgh as she models how to write an imaginary recount about somewhere we would love to visit.
Activity:
Have a go at writing your own recount by focusing on who, what and where… and let your imagination run wild with where you can go visit! Perhaps it might be a magical fairy garden, prehistoric dinosaur land or in the enchanted woods.

Activity:
Cut up and jumble your sentence strip. Put it back in the correct order and stick into your Spelling book. Draw a picture to match.
Challenge: Crayons are made out of wax. Watch and see how they are made! What other things do you know

You will need:
. A deck of cards
Introduction: Warm up with Jack Hartman singing the ‘Friends of Ten’ song.
Activity: After watching Mr Key’s take you through today’s lesson, go and get some playing cards. Take out the King, Queen and Jack. Ace will represent one. Flip over one card. Ask, ‘How many more do I need to make 10?’ Think, how can I work it out? Model counting on using fingers or counters. Repeat this several times, practising counting on to ten.
You will know you are finished when…..you have practised counting on to ten several times.
Challenge: Change the total. Instead ask, how many more to 13 or 15 or 20’.
