Activity: Introduction and Guided Lesson with Mrs. Holmes
Task One: This is a guided task with Mrs. Holmes
Before watching the video, rule up a new table with the same columns as yesterday to record the word, the sentence, what you think it means and its definition.
Once you are organised, watch the video of Mrs. Holmes leading you through George’s Secret Key to the Universe and pausing to add each word to your table.
Task Two:
Listen to Chapter 13, 14 and 15 of George’s Secret Key to the Universe.
Write a short summary of the Chapters. Aim for 4 - 5 sentences.
Task Three:
Reading Eggspress: Complete 2 lessons on your map. Choose a book from the library, read and complete the quiz.
Learning Intention: We are learning to draft and edit our writing.
Success Criteria:
- I can reread my writing and make changes so that it makes sense for the reader.
Tuning In: Watch the video of Mr Heard introducing the lesson and modelling the activity for today.
Activity: Today you can continue to draft either the writing piece that you began yesterday or a new writing piece from the Writing Choice Board.
Aim to write for about 30 minutes applying the strategies ‘I lock my eyes and ears in’ and ‘I write the whole time’ to build your writing stamina.
When you have finished drafting use the strategy arrows below to proofread and edit your writing. When making changes please use a different coloured pencil so that you can see where you have made changes and improvements to your writing.
This week we will be completing a spelling assessment task as part of our small group Google Meets.
