Relation to real life- We can play games that teach us about chance but we can also think about the chance, or probability, of something happening in real life. What is the chance of the Tasmanian Devil becoming extinct? We know there are things in their environment that make them ‘endangered’ or ‘vulnerable’. They used to live all over Australia but can now only be found in Tasmania. Some of their habitat is being taken over and some of them have a disease which is making them die. Watch the teacher video to find out how chance relates to this. There are also some websites listed here if you would like to find out more about the Tasmanian Devil. Today’s special online incursion video from Black Snake Productions has some more information about the Tasmanian Devil.
