Writing Techniques
Activity 1:
Today we are creating our editing checklist for the future.
There are a lot of times when we are editing our work but we forget to check all critical elements to our writing. Today we will be creating an editing checklist in our writers notebooks for whenever we are editing our work, we can look back at this checklist to tick off everything we will be looking for. We can make this as neat as possible using as much colour and creativity that you like.
Our checklist should include:
Capital letters
Full stops
Quotation marks
Topic sentences
Neat and tidy
Sentence structure (all my sentences make sense)
Correct spelling
Activity 2:
Writers Workshop
We can now move onto our Writer’s Workshop. This Writer’s Workshop may look a little different now we are at home. You still have the freedom to write what you wish, but we still expect you to take pride in your work.
Here are a few things we expect you to follow while creating your writing piece:
Freedom to write what you wish
Taking pride in your work
Writing in a peaceful and quiet environment (you could work outside in the sunshine, listen to some music if it helps you think etc.)
