Learning intention: We are learning to take it further.
We will be successful if we can: relate what we have learned about bushrangers to life today and discuss if it impacts on our thinking and actions.
There are two tasks for today. Allocate 30 minutes to each task.
Task 1: Taking It Further: How does this relate to life today?
Step 1: Consider the following question: Should children be allowed to play games that involve fighting?
Step 2: Decide on your point of view (for or against) and write one paragraph explaining your thinking. List reasons as to why you feel this way.
Ask yourself the following questions before you decide on your point of view. You do not need to write the answers down, just answer the questions out loud verbally to yourself.
Do I, or have I ever, played with toy guns, toy soldiers, or even computer games that simulate fighting?
What is, or isn’t, the appeal of these types of games and toys?
Do these games and toys encourage people to see bushrangers as Australian heroes? Or do we see them as villains?
Step 3: Record your paragraph in writing and upload it to Google classroom.
Task: Reading
Please complete 25-30 minutes of independent reading. Please ensure you are keeping your reading log up to date.

Learning Intention: We are learning to complete our writing tasks.
We will be successful if we:
Complete any unfinished tasks.
Upload our writing for the week.
Writing Task: Finishing off any writing tasks you have not completed throughout the week that were based on your bushranger.
Or
Writers workshop
Step 1: Go through your Writer’s Notebook and work out what writing piece you are working on. If you are not working on one currently, you will need to either start a new seed or find a seed and decide on a new writing piece to start.
Step 2: Continue writing at the stage you are at. If you have chosen a new seed, you will need to start planning a writing piece using the correct planning template like we discussed in class. Eg: If you decide to do a narrative you will need to plan your writing using a story graph template.
Step 3: Make sure you follow the Writers Workshop model: Seed - plan - draft - self edit - conference - publish. If you don’t have an opportunity to conference during your small group google meets with your teacher, or you cannot get a parent to go through your writing with you, you may move to the publishing stage, as long as you have edited carefully.
Step 4: Once a writing piece is published, go back to your Writer’s Notebook and start the process again. Remember you can always use the same seed, and use a different text type.
*Remember when publishing to be creative as possible. Try to publish in different ways and experiment with different programs.
Learning Intention: We are learning to complete our weekly spelling test.
We will be successful if we:
Test for every word on the list, then correct individually
Correct our test
Upload your test results to your class Google Classroom
Learning Intention: We are learning to complete our post test for our fractions, decimals and percentages unit.
We will be successful if we can:
complete your fractions, decimals and percentages post test by yourself.
take pride in your improvement!

If you can print it, please do and fill in your answers on the sheet. If you can’t, you will need to use your maths book to answer the questions but make you sure you label the question numbers as well.
If you are unsure of a question, leave it blank. Do not get someone at home to help you with it. It is a test and we need to see what you have learnt and what we can still continue to work on.
Please set it out neatly so your teachers can very clearly see which question goes with which answer.
Give it your best go, and please try to complete it today, so we can go over the answers on Monday next week. Good luck!
