Learning Intention- We are learning how to have-a-go at spelling a word when we are proofreading..
Success Criteria - I can have- a- go at my tricky words from yesterday.
I can record these on my have- a- go sheet.
You will need- the 3 sentences from yesterday, greylead and your current writing piece.
Activity-
-Watch Ms Brown modelling how to have-a-go a tricky word.
-Reread your sentences from yesterday.
Do they make sense?
-Look at your underlined words.
-Use the have a go method to try to spell the word correctly, then find out the correct spelling.
-Continue with your writing piece. You may be doing a notebook page, planning your piece, drafting, editing or proofreading or publishing. If you are not excited about your piece you can change it.
Your teachers would like you to keep all your writing in your folder, it would be good to record the date on it, like we do at school.
Learning Intention- We are learning about syllables.
Success Criteria- I can think of some words that have one syllable.
Activity
Today you are going to have a go at coming up with some of your own examples of some words with syllables. First, you are going to think about the topic we will use, Spring. Then, think of as many words with ONE syllable that you can think of that has to do with Spring. Write these into your learning book under the heading Spring. Keep these safe, we will be using them later!
So you now have a list of words containing one syllable in your learning book. We are going to now see if we can think of some words with two and three syllables in them. Remember, the words have to remind you of Spring.
