You will need:
. Coloured paper
. Pencils
. Coloured markers
. Glue
. Paint
. Any materials around the house to make the colouful parrot
Introduction:
Watch the video of Ms Baeck reading ‘ How the Birds got their Colours’.
Activity: Draw, paint or make a colourful parrot. List WOW words (adjectives/describing) words about the parrot.
You will know you are finished when….you have created a colourful parrot and listed describing words about the parrot.
Challenge: List describing words for the other characters in the text.
Recount Writing
Learning Intention: We are learning to write a recount that includes who, what, where and when.
Success Criteria:
I used my spelling chart to help me sound out words.
I included who, what, where and when.
On Sunday I finished our mud kitchen with my family. We put it in the backyard.
You Will Need:
Writing book - turn to the very next blank page.
Grey lead pencil (to write)
Coloured pencils (to illustrate)
Spelling chart (to help you sound out your words)
Introduction:
Follow along with Mrs Greenhalgh as she models how to write a recount about her weekend that includes the details ‘who, what, where and when’.
Activity:
Have a go at writing your own recount by focusing on who, what, where and when. Remember to draw a picture to illustrate what you did.
Please upload your recount onto Google Classroom when you have finished so that your teacher can read your writing and see what exciting things you have been doing.
You will know you are finished when…
You have read back your recount and it includes the who, what, where and when.
Challenge:
Can you try adding an extra sentence to your recount to give the reader a little bit more information about what you did and describe how you felt while doing it.

Introduction: Begin the lesson by watching the following Numberblocks video on addition (see below). Then watch Mr Keys take you through the learning today.
Activity: Choose your own picture story book to create some of your own addition number sentences ( 5 - 10 to complete). Practise writing the number sentence. Practise counting on from the biggest number to find the total.

You will know you are finished when…. you can count a collection of two objects and find the total.
Challenge: Start to investigate partners to 10. What two numbers make ten. How many combinations are there? 6+ 4 + 10……
