Learning intention: We are learning to find interesting new words from non-fiction texts
Success criteria: I can find topic words to record on my Word Collector.
Topic Word Search- Use either the books you read yesterday, or find new ones at home or in Reading Eggs. See if you can find a Topic Word for every letter of the alphabet. Write them in your Glossary/Word Collector at the back of your Ranger Guide book. There is a picture of what the Word Collector looks like below.
For example, some words I might have found if I was reading about echidnas could be-
quills, keratin, snout, burrow, habitat, diet, life cycle, termites, nocturnal, pouch, monotreme, marsupial
Learning intention: We can create a seed to identify what I would like to know about an Australian Animal
Success criteria: I can record questions that I have about an Australian Animal
Make a new ‘seed’ in your Writer’s Notebook about an Australian Animal. Draw a quick black and white sketch of any Australian Animal you choose. Write questions around your animal using the 5Ws- When? Where? What? Why? and How?
Learning intention: We are learning to investigate time
Success criteria: I can go on a time treasure hunt around my home
How many clocks can you find at your house
What type are they? Analogue or Digital- if you’re not sure, ask Mum or Dad to show and explain the difference?
Where did you find them? On a phone, on the oven etc.
Were you surprised where you found some?
Draw pictures of analogue clocks and a digital clocks showing times that you know.
Draw pictures of clocks showing what time you are going to do different activities during Remote Learning- eg what time do you wake up? Eat breakfast? Start the day’s learning? Do some exercise? Go to bed?
