You will need:

Introduction:
Watch the video of Mr Keys reading How the Kangaroos got their Tails.
Activity
Using paper, cardboard or playdough, make puppets of all the characters in the story. We will use these in Tuesday’s lesson to retell the story so keep them somewhere safe! This task will be assessed as a Learning Task. Feedback will be given on Compass the following week.
You will know you are finished when....you have made the two kangaroos.
Challenge:
Write the names of the characters and make a list of words to describe them. For example the kangaroo was hungry, sneaky, greedy, angry.

Follow along with Mrs Greenhalgh as she reads the story ‘Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge’ and models how to write a recount about a special time in the past that includes who, what, where and when.
Activity:
Think of a favourite memory or thing that you have done with your family or a friend. Write a recount about it that includes who, what, where and when.
Upload a photo of your writing onto Google Classroom when you have finished.

You have read back your recount and it includes who, what, when and where.

Activity:
Cut up and jumble your sentence strip. Put it back in the correct order and stick into your Spelling book. Draw a picture to match.
Then, practise your ‘yes’ handwriting slip (from your Handwriting pack).
Challenge: Go on a treasure hunt around your house for all the things that begin with (or include) the y’ sound. Record these in your Spelling book.
