If you have finished writing your FINAL DRAFT for your Information Report about your OWN TOPIC, please upload a photo to Google Classroom for your teacher.
Instead of doing today's lesson, you can do some independent writing and create a piece to be included in our Year 4 Bellbrae Anthology!
We are collecting pieces of writing from Year 4s to include in a book of published writing (our Anthology!). You could write:
a story - what about writing a mystery, fantasy or science fiction story?
a poem
a biography (writing about someone else) or an autobiography (writing about you!)
a recount
a procedural text - maybe you have a skill you could tell other people about, or have a recipe for an awesome cake!
a magazine or newspaper article
Let your imagination go wild - it's really up to you!
Please upload a photo of your Writing Anthology piece to Google Classroom if this is what you are working on today.
This week, you will be finishing off your Information Reports and writing your final draft. Today we are working on the Information Report that YOU chose the topic for.
Activity 1
You need to check that you have researched and written down information for ALL of these paragraphs:
a Sizzling Start about your topic (see the lessons on Year 4 > Week 6 > Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday if you still need to do this)
at least 3 paragraphs of information about your topic. Remember, these paragraphs should all be about different things to do with your topic!
an Ending with Impact about your topic (see the lessons on Year 4 > Week 8 > Monday, Tuesday if you still need to do this)
subheadings for each of your paragraphs
Activity 2
If you still need to finish researching information for your paragraphs, you can do this now. Please put this extra research on the page next to the draft you rewrote in Activity 1 so you can find it easily.
Please watch Miss Evans’ video about how to research information effectively! If you follow the strategies shown in the video, you will be able to research and find information much more easily and quickly.
