Learning Intention:
We are learning to show what we know, what we wonder and what we have learned about a topic.
Success Criteria: I can…
choose a Health topic I would like to research.
draw and fill in my KWL chart.
We are going to start writing Information Reports that will tie in with the learning you’ve been doing about Health this term. You will still get to write the Information Report using your own topic!
Activity
First, please draw the KWL chart below in your Seed books. We did a KWL chart seed together at the beginning of the term so you should be familiar with this table already, but here’s a reminder!
In the ‘Know’ column of your KWL chart, you will write everything that you already know about the Health topic you choose.
In the ‘Wonder’ column of your KWL chart, you will write any ‘wonderings’ or questions about the topic you choose.
In the ‘Learned’ column, you will write what you have learned about your topic AFTER RESEARCHING.
Next, you need to choose a Health topic that you would like to research and eventually write an Information Report about. Here are some topics to inspire you:
Fitness/Sport: running, footy, soccer, basketball, netball, dancing, mountain biking, cycling, surfing, skating, cricket, tennis, gymnastics, athletics
Healthy eating/diet
Drinking water
Sleep
Mental/emotional health: Mindfulness, yoga, meditation, mandalas
