Welcome to Week 8. Some brilliant procedural texts submitted last week, interesting facts learnt and lots of measuring on those home made scales. Well done.
Please check your Google Meet times. Your teacher really likes to catch up and see how you are going. The times could be different from last week.

Learning Intention- We are learning about the digraph /oo/ as in moon.
Success Criteria- I can select 8 words for my weekly spelling list and I can find 2 BOB words to add to my Weekly Spelling List.
REMEMBER B.O.B. stands for “Back of Book” words. If we were at school, we would have a list in the back of our writing book to keep track of ‘tricky’ words that we need to practise. Each week we add 2 of these BOB words to our weekly spelling list so we can learn them.

-Highlight 8 words on the /oo/ Weekly Spelling sheet
-Write the 8 words into the Monday column on the Weekly Spelling sheet
-Look through your writing book or your story that you wrote last week - can you see any words spelt incorrectly?
-Choose 2 words to add at the bottom of your Spelling List in the B.O.B word section
Learning Intention- We are learning about rhyming words.
Success Criteria- We can choose words that rhyme.
Activity
We are going to learn about the skill of rhyming. Have a go at the warm up videos and follow along to turn on your rhyming brain! Then you are going to play the Ronald the Rhino word matching game. See if you can match up the words with others than rhyme. Remember to think if the word feels the same in your mouth as you say it.
Learning Intention- We are learning to use adjectives and verbs in our writing to add interest.
We are learning to write the letter Yy correctly.
Success Criteria- I will complete a notebook page including different types of words to describe my Dad.

Activity
Adjectives are words to describe nouns. Watch another Jack video! Jack spells Mummy the American way. See if you can pick it.
Verbs are words that are actions. You could watch this verb video if you need a reminder about verbs. There is a very cheeky word in this video.
-Complete the Yy page of your handwriting book. Page 48
-Watch Ms Brown’s teaching video showing how to do this week's notebook page
-In the middle of a double page of your notebook draw a picture of you and your Dad.
-Divide the page in half and on the left put the heading adjectives and on the right put the heading verbs.
-Now under the heading verbs write down all the things your dad and you do together.
-Under the heading adjectives write down words that describe your Dad.
Remember Writers are thinkers this may take some time but planning is an important part of writing. This page will make your writing this week better.

Create a poster (write and draw) of things you do during the day and the night.
Eg. Day - school, ride a bike, surf
Night - bathtime, watch TV, sleep
Extra Challenge: Can you record the actual time you do those things?
Every day you can choose one Specialist activity you would like to complete for the day. The Specialist areas are: Art, Performing Arts, STEM, Indonesian and PE (Physical Education).
