Read independently for 15 minutes. Whilst you’re reading today, write down at least 3 interesting or unfamiliar words to look up in the dictionary. If you aren’t finding any new words, the book isn’t a ‘just right’ fit for you. You could look at some of the Australian Animal books in the Library section of Reading Eggspress.
Click on the link to the Kids Britannica dictionary. Type in your words and copy down the word and the definition (what the word means).

Success criteria: I can use labelled diagrams, photos, maps and diagrams to help explain information in my Information Report.

Remember that your booklet is a planning/drafting booklet. You can rewrite, make mistakes and make changes in this book.
Students are encouraged to do some self editing and proofreading and possibly receive some feedback from Mum/Dad. A gentle reminder about how our growth mindset allows us to take on feedback may help your child be more willing to receive feedback.
Students are asked to look at the following to improve their writing..
Can you rewrite sentences to make them more interesting
Can you add come better words to your sentences
Can you add pictures to help explain your writing better.
Sketch possible pictures they may want to use in their ‘published copy’.
Can you add more detail to each section to make your writing more informative.

Learning Intention: We are learning to tell the time. Success Criteria:
I can tell the time to the hour. (mild) I can tell the time to the half hour. (mild)
I can tell time to the quarter hour using the words ‘past’ and ‘to’. (Grade 2 aim- Spicy).
I can tell time to the minute and analogue and digital clocks (Hot)
*Parents please note- telling the time is a difficult concept for a lot of kids. They can be at very different levels of understanding at different ages. Use the ‘chilli levels as a guide. (see above in Success Criteria)
