Learning Intention:
We are learning to spell words using the digraph /ci/ making the sound ‘sh’ as in special.
Success Criteria:
I can write my Spelling words in alphabetical order.

We can login to Reading Eggs and answer questions using clues from the text, and listen to others.
Success Criteria:

used clues including words and pictures from the text to answer questions about the book.
listened while someone who is important to me talked.
reflected on why listening is important.
Activity 1 -
Login to the Reading Eggspress Library.
Read chapters 6 - 8 of the book 'Relationships' and complete the quiz at the end of each section. You may need to reread the text to find the important information and keywords to answer the questions at the end of each section.

Activity 2 -
1 - In your English book, WRITE down what you think the three most important qualities in a good friend are. What does a good friend do?
2 - ASK a parent or sibling if they are free for a few minutes to help you with an activity (make sure that you do this when they have time - later in the day or in the evening is ok).
3 - SIT down with them, and ask them to talk to you about whatever they want to for 2 minutes.
Some ideas could be:
- their favourite childhood memories
- the things that make them feel happy
- a time that they were sad or upset, and how they helped themselves to feel better
- something you might not know about them
4 - While they are talking, your challenge is to LISTEN.
Listen with your eyes, your body, your heart.
Be interested in what they have to say, and show them that you are by not interrupting them.
5 - AFTER they have finished talking, ask them any questions that might have popped into your mind while you were listening to them. Listen to their answers.
5 - Ask them HOW THEY FELT while you were listening to them.
If they have time, you could switch roles.
6 - In your English book, WRITE down your answers these questions:
How did YOU FEEL while you were listening?
How did YOUR FAMILY MEMBER FEEL about your listening?

Yesterday we looked at how we can combine an interesting fact with a Sizzling Start technique to write an amazing Sizzling Start that will grab our readers’ attention!
Today, we are using what we learned yesterday to write a Sizzling Start for our own Information Report. Please use the research you have already done at school and at home about your topic.
You need to:
add another row to the table you drew yesterday, or if you don't have room, draw the table again on a new page.
choose a fascinating fact from your own research and write it in your table.
choose the Sizzling Start technique you are going to use.

We organise objects arrays by making rectangles.
Order 30 objects (pasta, rice, blocks, coins, counters etc) into rows and columns to make a rectangle.
