We are learning to write an effective ending for our Information Reports.
Success Criteria: I can…
use one of the Top Ending Techniques to write an ending for my Information Report.
Please watch this video to see examples of an Ending with Impact using each of the Top Ending Techniques!
Today we will be using the Endings with Impact we brainstormed yesterday to write an ending our Information Reports.
You should choose the idea you think is the most interesting for your reader.
You should have three endings to choose from - one that uses a link to the introduction, one that uses a call to action and another that makes your reader think.
Remember that your paragraph needs to use one of the Top Ending Techniques:
Link to the introduction (your sizzling start)
Call to action
Make the reader think
Have a look at yesterday’s lesson if you need a reminder of how we can use these techniques in our writing.
You should also try and use one of these techniques to make your writing even stronger:
• ask a rhetorical question
• use repetition
• ‘The Rule of Three’
• use a strong quotation
• paint a word picture
• use emotive language
Now have a go at writing your Ending With Impact!

Warm up-
Read through these hints.
Which strategies help you?
Play Top Score.
To play this game you will need an online 10 sided dice.
Copy the table into your book. USE A RULER.
In pairs, or on your own, take turns to roll two 10-sided dice. Multiply the two numbers and record your total score for that throw. Add each total to your previous total using an efficient strategy. Player with the highest total at the end of 10 throws wins.
If playing on your own, you will try to beat your highest score.
Play two rounds. Upload your score sheet to Google Classroom.
EXTENSION. Play with three dice.
If time, students can finish assigned tasks on Mathletics.
