After you have completed your research for today we would like you to take a photo of your Research Record and upload this to Google Classroom for feedback.
Learning Intention: Learning Intention: We are learning to spell words using the graph /u/ making the ‘w’ sound as in quick.
Success Criteria:
- I have completed the Tuesday column of my weekly spelling grid.
- I have identified consonant and vowel sounds in 5 of my list words.
Activity:
Complete the Wednesday Column of your spelling grid. Then complete the following activity using 5 of your list words.
Colour Coding
Say the word aloud.
Write the word.
Trace over the letters that make a consonant sound in blue.
Trace over the letters that make a vowel sound in red.
If you need some help the consonant and vowel sound posters are below.
Learning Intention: We are learning about capacity.
Success Criteria: I will be successful if I can show my working out using addition equations that equal 1000.
Tuning In: Today, play a card game with your brother or sister to get your brain thinking about numbers! A great one to practise your addition strategies is ‘Addition War!’ Each of you flip over two cards from the middle and add them together. For example: 6+8. I can use my doubles facts to double 6 to get to 12 then add 2 more to get me to 14. Your partner does the same. Whoever made the largest total keeps the four cards. Continue to play, the winner of each round keeping the cards, until there are no cards left. The winner is the person with the most cards at the end!
Activity: Today, we would like you to explore creating 1 litre in as many ways as possible. We know that 1000 millilitres makes 1 litre. Record using addition symbols the variety of ways you can create 1 litre.
Remember to complete a specialist activity each day! Check out what's on offer by scrolling back to the top of the page, clicking on the 'more' button and selecting the drop down option beside the word 'specialists'.
From here you can choose which area you would like to focus on for the day. Aim to complete Art, Performing Arts, STEM, Indonesian, PE and Blue Earth each week.
