Please find attached a suggested timetable for your week which maps out each day. This is only a suggestion to help you keep track and ensure you complete all activities.
You can also find this timetable in the Year 1 Tab at the top of the website page.
Learning Intention-
-We are learning about the digraph 'ze' as in sneeze
-I can choose my own 8 words from the spelling list
-I can write the words into the spelling graph and break up the words into sounds
Success Criteria- I can select 8 words for my weekly spelling list and break them into sounds on my word grid.
Activity-
Highlight 8 words on the weekly spelling sheet
Write your 8 words into the Monday column
Copy those 8 words onto the SMART Spelling Grid sheet and break the words into its sounds by placing one sound in each square
If you do not have a printer at home you can write your 8 words into your spelling book. You can also draw your Word Grid and weekly spelling sheet into your spelling book.
Learning Intention: We are learning to identify words that have a short vowel sound.
Success Criteria: We can identify which short vowel sound is being used in a word.
Activity:
Make a list of the vowels across the top of the page in your LEARNING BOOK. You may like to use a ruler to help you divide up the page. Each time you write a vowel, say out loud the SHORT sound that it makes. Once you have your table drawn up and ready to go, have a read through some of your books at home and see if you can find any words that use the short vowel sound and make a list for each letter. A good challenge would be to try and find three for each vowel.
Learning Intention: We are revising the writing process we use at school.
We are learning how to form lower case and upper case Ff
Success Criteria: I can explain to my home school teacher our writing process.
I can use the correct letter formation for Ff in this week’s writing.
Activity: Watch the teaching video for today.
Complete page 42 of your handwriting book. Trace over your best F f in your favourite colour.
Make an information poster showing our writing process. Seed, Plan, Draft, Edit, Conference, Publish
Write each heading and do an illustration to show what each heading means.
Explain your information poster to your home school teacher, then put it up in your learning space.
Learning Intention: We are learning to recall addition number facts automatically.
Success Criteria:
I know my ‘add 0 facts’ automatically.
I know my ‘add 1 facts’ automatically.
I know my ‘add 2 facts’ automatically.
I know my ‘add 3 facts’ automatically.
I know ‘my add 4 facts’ automatically.
I know ‘my add 5 facts’ automatically.
ACTIVITY: Meteorologists remember to record today’s weather on your Weather Chart (symbol and temperature).
WATCH THE VIDEO FIRST WHICH INTRODUCES THE LESSON AND EXPLAINS WHAT TO DO.
You will need:
Addition Fact sheets
Glue
Scissors
Laminator - optional
Keyrings - optional
Make your number fact cards from the sheets you were given last Monday. (If you were absent on Monday, the sheets are attached and you will have to print them out.)
We will be using these over the next few weeks so keep them in a safe place!
Cut around the outside rectangle.
2. Fold the page in half so the fact is at the front and the answer is on the back.
3. Paste together.
4. If you have access to a laminator, you can laminate each page before cutting into individual cards.
5. Cut out the individual cards.
Front of the cards.
Back of the cards.
You might like to hold them on a key-ring for easy access.
Practise, practise, practise and practise some more so you know them automatically.
