Introduction:
Watch the YouTube clip 'Tiddalick The Frog'. After watching the story, listen to Ms Baeck take you through today’s learning. You are going to work alongside Ms Baeck today to complete the task. You won’t need your parents to help you!
Activity
Divide your page into two. On one side draw a picture and write a sentence explaining the problem. On the other side, draw a picture and write a sentence to explain how the problem was solved.
You will know you are finished when…..you have drawn two pictures and explained both the problem and the solution.
Challenge: Come up with a different solution for the story.
Focus: Letter Writing
Learning Intention: We are learning to write a letter to tell someone about what we have been doing.
Success Criteria:
I use my spelling chart to help me sound out words
My letter tells someone what I have been doing
I start my letter with ‘To’ or ‘Dear’ and finish my letter with ‘Love’ or ‘From’.

Last week Miss G read ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and today you’ve watched ‘The Jolly Postman or Other People’s Letters’. Today you are going to have a go at writing your own personal letter to someone you care about. Perhaps someone you haven't seen for a while. It might be a family member or friend. This will be a draft and you will publish them tomorrow so they are ready to send. Try and tell the person about what you have been doing.

Activity:
Cut up and jumble your sentence strip. Put it back in the correct order and stick into your Spelling book. Trace over the words in your sentence.
Draw a picture to match.
You will know you are finished when... You have put the sentence in the correct order, traced your sentence and stuck it in your Spelling book (with a picture to match).
Challenge: Watch and see what it is like to be a vet. What animals would you like to help if you were a vet?

. 10 Items of your choice (toys, teddies, lego pieces, sticks)
. One 6 sided dice or number cards (0 - 6)

Introduction: Watch the warm up video ‘When you subtract with a pirate’.
Activity: After watching Mr Keys take you through today’s learning, practise verbalising taking objects away and saying how many you have left.
Here is a script that Mr Keys will teach you on the video:
Collect the ten items and put them in line
Role the dice, this will be the takeaway number (4)
Say, ‘I have 10 toys. I take 4 away. I have 6 toys left’
Role again (3)
I have 10 toys. I take 3 away. I have 7 toys left.
Practise this at least ten times.
You will know you are finished when….you have had lots of practise taking away items. Remember, when you take away an item, your answer will be less.
Challenge: Can you say the matching addition tens facts (fact family).
