Introduction:
Watch today’s reading video. Following on from yesterday's lesson we will be making the setting from How the Kangaroos got their Tails.
Activity:
Make the setting. Think about the environment. What does the land look like? Can you see trees? Can you see cliffs? When you have finished this use the puppet characters you made yesterday and the setting today to retell the story in your own words. The video will be uploaded onto Google Classroom for your teacher to see and give feedback on Compass for this task.
Or use your puppets and create a Stop Motion video to retell the story. Please remember we will need to hear your voice if you use stop motion for this task. You can upload the Stop Motion video instead of a filmed video.
You know you have finished when…...you have made your character, setting and recorded a video/stop motion video to retell the main events that happened in the story.
Challenge: Come up with a different ending to How the Kangaroos got their Tails. Act this out using the puppets and setting. Make sure you keep this separate to the retell you submit - or add it onto the end as an extra.

Challenge:
Make a silly sentence with lots of ‘y’ words.

Learning Intention: We are learning to number bust.
Success Criteria: I can find two numbers that make the given total.
I can find three or more numbers that make the given total.
Explicit Instruction: https://youtu.be/2NeJxDjamMk
You will need:
. Dice
. Two packs of number cards to 10
. Dominos
. Maths Book
. Counters
. Pencil
Introduction: Warm up by rolling two dice and adding them to find the total. Remember to practise counting on from the biggest number. If you do not have dice, split a deck of cards in half. Turn over two cards and add.
Challenge! Playing the adding game against a family member. Who can get the answer first?
Activity: Watch Mr Key’s explain today’s number busting lesson. If you do not have dominoes, choose a number between 4 - 20. This will be the answer.
Example the answer is 6. Now find as many ways as you can make the number 6 or ‘bust’ the number 6. Your child may still need counters for this task so they can split the number into two groups.
1 +5 = 6, 4+2 = 6, 3+3 =6.
You will know you are finished when.....you have bust the number four or five times and written the matching number sentence. Take a photo and upload to your class folder.
Challenge: Choose a number to bust between 5 - 20. This time see if you can find three or four numbers that make the total. For an extra challenge, anything goes! You can use plus, minus, division or groups of to find the total.
Example:
=6
2+2+2 = 6
3+3 = 6
7-1 = 6
10 - 4 = 6
12 /2 = 6
2X3 =6
