Activity
Watch Ms Brown’s teaching video.
Look at your Notebook page from yesterday.
Decide on 1 thing you are going to teach us to do. Of course if you have a different idea that is not on your notebook page, that is fine.
Make it something that is simple and doesn’t have too many steps for your first attempt.
You can draft using the template or simply use the headings and write on lined paper. Include a title, an equipment list, your steps and your closing comment.
Edit your writing, check that your steps begin with verbs and they are easy to follow.
Test your instructions by reading them to an adult and see if they can do what you want them to by following your instructions.
Proof read by checking spelling and punctuation. You could use your Magic Words chart to check your spelling.

Same-sized unit eg. blocks, pegs, icy-pole sticks, match-sticks, bolts, cotton-reels, washers, nails, etc.
Your homemade balance scales from last week
One way to measure the heaviness of an object is to find out how many smaller objects balance it.

Complete the worksheet - Experiment with your balance scales to ‘Match the mass of an Object'
Use your home-made balance scales and a same-sized unit eg. blocks, pegs, icy-pole sticks, match-sticks, bolts, cotton-reels, washers, nails, etc. to measure the mass of: a pencil, pair of scissors and a book.
Complete the worksheet or answer the questions in your Math Book. (I have attached a completed example so you can see how to do it).
Use tally marks to keep count of your units.
