Today we are learning how to plan our Sizzling Start and Exciting Ending when writing an information report. You will be using the research you did at school about your Information Report topic.

You were given two pieces of paper to take home which are the templates you will use to plan. Today we are using the worksheet that looks like this:

On your worksheet, you need to:

1. Choose a fact you haven’t used in your paragraphs to use in your Sizzling Start - make sure your fact is fascinating enough to grab your reader’s attention!

2. Give an example of how you will use this fact to grab the reader’s attention (see below for Sizzling Start techniques to help you). You also need to write what technique you have used, e.g. show, don’t tell.

3. Choose a fact you haven’t used in your paragraphs to use in your Ending with Impact - make sure your fact is fascinating enough to grab your reader’s attention!

4. Give an example of how you will use this fact to grab the reader’s attention (see below for Ending with Impact techniques to help you). You also need to write what technique you have used, e.g. show, don’t tell.
