Today's task to upload to Google Classroom is: Reading
Learning intention: We are learning to understand what we read by answering questions about a text.
Success criteria: I can answer questions about a text to improve my understanding.
Please watch the video above of Mrs WK reading Olga the Brolga by Rod Clement..
Answer the questions below in your Literacy book. You don’t have to copy the question down in your book, you can just write the number and then the answer. Please answer the questions in full sentences. Mrs WK gives an example of how to do this in the video. You might need to rewatch the story again to answer some of the questions. This is a good strategy to help us understand what we read- do you remember last time in Remote Learning when we worked on the strategy Go Back & Reread?

2. Count the sounds in your spelling word, and write the tricky part.
3. You should set it out like we have above. Repeat this for all of your spelling words.
4. Complete the Tuesday column in the weekly Spelling List we started yesterday
Learning intention:
We are learning strategies that help us with multiplication. Success criteria:
I can create a game to help me practise my multiplication facts.
Warm Up: Shake It ‘n’ Make It If there is a spare egg cartoon at your house it could be turned into a multiplication machine. Write the numbers 1-12 in the bottom of each section. Use two marbles, counters or Lego blocks placed inside. Close the lids and shake them around. When you open it, see where the counters have landed and that becomes the multiplication question to answer. If the number 11 and 12 are too high you could always repeat other numbers such as 2 and 5. The Multiplication Chart could be used to confirm answers.
Activity: Footy Maths or Ninja Maths
This activity involves students creating their own game to practise their multiplication skills with. They can make a footy game a ninja game or anything else they can think of. Students may be finding they are starting to remember some multiplication facts and can work some out in their head. However, the Multiplication Chart is always helpful for calculating answers. In today’s video I will show the students how they can use it to find an answer without having to make the whole array.
See image below for an example however, the teaching video has a full description of how to make each. Depending how creative they get, this activity could also involve some Art and STEM as well!
Reflection:
Are you finding that you are starting to remember some multiplication facts? Can you work out some answers in your head?
What strategy are you using?
Which ones are most easy?
Are they the ones you know from skip counting? Eg x2 or x5 or x10?
