Today's task to be uploaded to Google Classroom: Writing
Learning intention: We are learning to arrange words into alphabetical order
Success Criteria: I can arrange words into alphabetical order
Home learning activities:
Watch Mrs W reading ‘The Singing Seal’ in the above video.
Find your alphabet strip from yesterday.
Arrange the following words from the story into alphabetical order- swimming, seal, special, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour, singing, hermit crabs, lobster, concert, diving. Today is a bit trickier than yesterday because there are a lot of words that begin with the letter s! Don’t forget to look at the next letters to help you.
To really practise your new skill, you could rearrange your own books into alphabetical order and make them look like they’re at a library! You could sort them alphabetically by the author’s surname or the title. You could also rearrange things like board games, your toys, or even herbs and spices (please ask your parents if it’s ok first!)
Learning intention: We need to research information when we are writing an Information Report.
Success Criteria: I can find the answers to my questions about an animal using videos and information sheets.
Resources:
A5 Booklet
Ranger Guide
Information Books, pages or devices for researching
Home learning activity:
Today the students need to read the three questions they want to answer from their planning booklet.
They read the information provided for their animal, use QR code pages as shown in the video to research using online resources, or books from their own personal library.
They fill in information underneath each subheading (question) in their Booklet planner. They need to write these using sentences and try to make it interesting.
Add words they discover during their research to the glossary page.
