Introduction: Watch Ms Baeck read the book ‘Insects’.
Activity: After watching Ms Baeck read the book, write down three facts you have learnt about insects.
You will know you are finished when…….. you have written three facts you have learnt about insects and drawn a picture to match in your Integrated book.
Challenge: Ms Baeck read some tricky words in the book. Can you find the meaning to these words:

Learning Intention: We are learning to plan our ideas for our holiday recount.
Success Criteria:
I brainstormed what I did on the holidays.
I picked an interesting activity from the holidays that I will be able to write about.
I wrote describing words using the 5 senses.
Activity:
Watch Mrs Greenhalgh as she guides you through planning your holiday recount. Allow 5-10 minutes for the initial brainstorm about everything students did on the holidays and then another 5-10 minutes to brainstorm descriptive words.

Look at the descriptive words you wrote. See if you can find some synonyms for the descriptive words you have written. A synonym is a word that has the same, or almost exactly the same meaning as another word. For example, a synonym for relaxing is calm or peaceful.

You will know you are finished when……you have rolled the dice 5 times and practised counting forwards and backwards from that number.
Challenge: See the extension ideas in the video. Practise counting by either 2s, 5s or 10s counting pattern starting from 0 or any number for an extra challenge.
