Stuffed Pepper Soup

Modified from Auntie Sue

1 lb ground meat (I used hamburger, I think she used chicken)

1 cup chopped onion

1 tsp garlic, minced

1 (28 oz) can of diced tomatoes, with juice

1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste

6 cups of chicken broth

3 cups chopped green peppers (I actually used a mix of colors)

2/3 cup brown rice

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp basil

Salt and pepper to taste

In a large skillet, brown meat, onions and garlic. Drain and add to crock pot. Add rest of ingredients and mix. Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
