Milk Chocolate and Oatmeal Cookies

Modified from Christmas Cupcake Murder by Joanne Fluke

2 cup butter, softened

2 cup sugar

2 cup powdered sugar

4 tsp vanilla

1 tsp salt

4 tsp baking soda

4 eggs, beaten (I used extra large)

5 cups flour

1 pkg (12 oz) of milk chocolate chips

2 cup dry oatmeal (I used quick oats)

2/3 cup extra sugar for rolling

Preheat oven to 325.

Melt butter. Add in sugars and mix. Add in vanilla and mix and then salt. Mix in baking soda next. Make sure your dough is cooled enough and then add in eggs.

Add in flour incrementally until all well mixed in.

Stir in chips and oatmeal.

Roll dough into balls and then roll in sugar. Place on baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes (took me longer, but I make big cookies). Let sit for a few minutes then transfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling.
