Jack 'n' Coke Burgers

Modified from newspaper

4 slices bacon

1 lb ground beef (they said 85% lean, I mixed moose and some regular burger...I think it actually was cow, but someone's actual cow, not store bought....)

1 tbsp whiskey (such as Jack Daniel's...I'm not sure I used that, I used whatever Ray currently had in the cupboard)

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp cola (it probably was Diet Coke....we usually have that and Coke Zero in the house)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

4 slices cheddar (they suggested smoked cheddar, which I think would be good, but I couldn't find it - at least not at a price I was willing to pay - at Fred Meyer)

4 buns (they said pretzel, which would be good, but I just had regular ones)

Preheat outdoor grill.

Cook bacon until crisp.

Mix beef, whisky, cola, Worcestershire sauce and spices in a bowl. Divide into 4 portions. [So I actually doubled the recipe, but only made 6 burgers to make them a little larger.]

Cook burgers on outdoor grill and then top with cheese and bacon and serve on a bun. Add toppings and condiments to your liking.
