Rice Bread

Modified from Bread Machine Cookbook

***Recommend bread machine use, but you could also cook this in the oven if you really wanted****

1 cup water

1 egg

3 cups bread flour (I'd actually use bread flour, it makes a difference - I've tried both ways)

1 cup cooked white rice, drained (You won't feel like you are eating rice - it won't stick out like raisins would - you won't notice it, but it's a great texture)

1 tbsp dry milk

1 tsp. salt

1 1/2 tsp. sugar

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp rapid rise active dry yeast (I don't know if I actually use that stuff - I buy the big bag at Sam's Club)

Put the ingredients in bread maker in order unless your machine says to put in yeast first then reverse the liquid and dry ingredient order.

Set bread machine to basic/normal setting, medium crust. Press start.

Remove bread at end of cycle and cool.

Makes a small loaf (which fills mine up so it's about 1.5 lb loaf).
