Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Modified from Taste of Home and Betty Crocker

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 cup flour

3/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

additional sugar for rolling

36 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped (You can use whatever you want - I used Payday candy bars for my mother)

Preheat oven to 375. Beat butter, PB, sugars and egg. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and baking powder; beat into PB mixture.

Roll into 1 inch balls and then roll in extra sugar. Bake until light brown, 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately push a chocolate kiss on the top of each cookie. Cool on pans for 2 minutes and then remove to cooling rack to finish cooling.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
