The 2024 Presidential Election in the Dominican Republic, a landslide election for Popular Incumbent President Luis Abinader amongst a global anti-incumbent sentiment marks a stark contrast to the situation faced by most other incumbent parties in other countries.
This election also signified the culmination of a term & political project that saw significant economic Growth in the Dominican Republic as well as massive anti-corruption investigations and arrests of the longtime ruling PLD—which came in third behind Abinader and frm Member/president Leonel Fernandez.
