The 2012 West Virginia Senate Race, a rematch from the 2010 Senate race with Incumbent Democratic Senator Joe Manchin and GOP Nominee John Raese was the last time that a Democrat crossed the 60% line in a WV federal Election, and will likely continue for the forseeable future
The Campaign saw Manchin, who'se popularity had not wained from his days as governor, continue to preach about his bipartisan credentials whilst Raese continued tried, & failed to tie the senator to the unpopular Barack Obama, allowing Manchin to improve on his 2010 showing by nearly 10%.
In his landslide, Manchin swept all 17 of the senate districts, and 63/67 of House Districts to Raese's 4/67
