Tomorrow, the Dominican Republic goes to the Polls to elect their president for the next four years, to commemorate this, here is the map of the last Presidential election where Luis Abinader ousted the 16 year incumbent PLD by 14%.
His ousting of the incumbent party was primarily the result of multiple corruption scandals that they faced in the two years prior to the election.
Upon his election, Businessman and near political novice Abinader had to deal with the raging Coronavirus Pandemic, and the economic catastrophe that it brought to the nation's tourism sector.
Now, looking towards tomorrow, it seems that Abinader will be reelected comfortably, as most polls place him above the 50% needed to avoid a 2 person runoff.
