2018 NJ-03 Congressional District Election

Kim won in part thanks to successfullty portraying MaCarthur as Elitist and our of touch, successfully attacking him for the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts and Job act. Specifically, The Part that screwed MacArthur was the elimination of the State and Local Income Tax Deduction - a horrifically unpopular position in NJ. Of Note, he was the only NJ House Republican to actually vote for the TC&JA.

MacArthur Defended his position as the only NJ R to vore against the act by Saying "I didn't go to congress for other people to tell me how to vote". 

But in the end, the TC&JA vote, Kim Outspending MaCarthur $13,951,243 to $9,685,270 & the National Blue wave prooved too much for MacArthur to Overcome - thereby resulting in Kim becoming the first Democrat to Represent NJ-03 since John Adler won in 2008.
