The 2020 Senate election for Mayagüez-Aguadilla is an interesting one to say the least, with the PPD's traditional strength in the District's the south Eroding towards minor parties, and the PNP losing ground in the North to the PPD; creating a weird for result for both parties.
Taking a look at the candidate's individual coalitions, we find that Ada García Montes was strongest in the historically PNP Aguada, and Historically PPD Municipios of Rincón, Isabela and San Germán.
We also find that Migdalia González's strongest locality in the district is the Mayagüez Metro, in Mayagüez Añasco and Hormiguerros
Next we see that Newcommer PNP Nominee, Marcos Fabián González Was strongest in the historically PNP Strongholds of Aguadilla and Moca, as well as the rural and traditionaly PNP Las Marias
Lastly, Incumbent PNP Senator Luis Daniel Muñiz Performed best in his native San Sebastian, as well as the über liberal Cabo Rojo winning the latter due consolidating the Liberal statehooder vote.
Taking a look at the Precinto Results, we find more evidence as to how the PPD carried this district, that being PPD Gubernatorial Nom Delgado Altieri's home region effect in the north of the district, giving a strong result in Isabela and a good northern result for the PPD.
In addition, García's strong showing in Rincón, San Germán and Aguada, as well as Gonzáles's strong result in the Mayagüez metro, and holding close to Muñiz in Cabo Rojo helped deliver the district to the PPD
Taking a look at the results by House district we find that Ada García montes, won one district (the district encompassing Aguada and Rincon) Marcos Fabian also won one, (The district encompasing Aguadilla and northern Moca) and that Migdalia Gonzáles won the final three.
In addition to the districts encompasing the Mayagüez metro, in Mayagüez and Cabo Rojo, Gonzáles also won the district taking Isabel,a San Sebastian and Las Marias; thanks too holding a close second place in Isabela, and taking third place in Las Marias and San Sebastian
Next, taking a look at how the combined share of the candidates fared in the districts we see that the Partido Popular Democratico was able to win four out of the fice districts, & the Partido Nuevo Progresista was able to win one(The longtime PNP district encompasing Aguadilla)
All in all, thanks to Delgado Altieri's home region affect in the Isabela/thenorth of the district, García's strong result in Rincon and Aguada, & Gonzalez's strength in the Mayagüez metro, the PPD was able to pick up both of Mayagüez-Aguadilla's Senate seats.
