The 2021 Jersey City Ward B General Election, a contest between incumbent Councilmember Mira Prinz-Arey and Socialist Union Organizer Joel Brooks resulted in a suprisingly close 4% win for the incumbent Councilwoman.
Running on a progressive slate as opposed to the incumbent Fulop Slate, Brooks nearly ousted Prinz-Arey due to the gentrification present in Ward B, where development and a strong ground game is allowing Progressives to establish a foothold outside of Ward E.
The Ward Commission has since made Ward B harder for Progressives to win, however it is still a strong target for them in the 2025 Jersey City Municipal elections. Note there are no Lines in Jersey City mayoral elections so the ongoing lawsuit has little to no bearing on these elections.
