The 2020 Puerto Rico Gubernatorial Election by Unidad in the Core Municipalities of the San Juan Metro
Credited with handing Pedro Pierluisi the governorship of Puerto Rico, his 6.75% win in these 6 populous Municipios - caused by Carlos Delgado Altieri's social conservatism - were key in his victory.
Furthermore, with this region coming in at the highest third party vote on the island, despite Pierluisi's win and the PNP Base in Bayamón, this part of the island is also the base of the 2 major third Parties of Puerto Rico (MVC & PIP) and are necessary for either to win the Gov
In terms of coalitions, though Pierluisi dominated most everywhere, his strongest pockets of supports were in the longtime PNP strongholds of North Guaynabo Bayamón and Cataño, alongside reversing the PPD's increasing hegemony in the progressive San Juan.
By Contrast, the MVC had it's strongest supports in student centers, with their strongest precinct being housed in the UPR Rio Piedras Campus, and the PIP Similarly doing relatively well in the Student areas and central San Juan, alongside the PNP Base areas of Guaynabo & Bayamón
Lastly, the PPD was reduced to its base in Precinto 2 with the longstanding PPD Christian "Mita Congregation" providing the strongest support for Charlie Delgado Altieri in the Region.
