The 2018 Democratic Senate primary was an embarassing result for the Incumbent Senator Robert Menendez against perennial Candidate Lisa McCormick.
Menendez's 24% win showcases the senator's unpopularity primarilly caused by the investigation and accusations from his 2018 Corruption trial that ended in a deadlocked Jury
This election showcases both the weakness, and strength of certain lines in the state, as the Senator's unpopularity caused a massive amount of protest votes, such as holding him to a +55% win in his base of hudson county, and outright losing Somerset county
but the lines, and the Democratic Organization defence of Menendez still kept him above 60% in the primary, and swayed all potential major challengers agaisnt challenging Menendez.
Menendez won all 12 Congressional Districts, 35/40 Legislative districts to McCormick's 5/40 LDs, and 15/21 Counties to McCormick's 6/21 Counties
