The 2000 Presidential Election in New Jersey, A contest between incumbent Vice President Al Gore, and Texas Governor George H.W. Bush was the first election in where NJ Was perceived as the blue State it became in 1996.
This in turn lead to neither party heavily contesting it as it was perceived from the beginning as being in Gore’s Column.
In his win, Gore Romped bush by African Americans, Jewish Voters, and to a lesser extent, Latinos, whereas Bush narrowly Carried White Protestants and White Catholics in the State.
To this effect, While Bush won in the northern Jersey Suburbs, Gore Romped in the South Jersey WWC areas in addition to winning/doing well in the Ethnic white areas of South Central Jersey
Holding bush to a narrow win in Ocean and winning Monmouth. This was in addition to Gore doing well in the minority heavy Urban core of North Jersey between Hackensack, Bergen, and Trenton, Essex
In His Win, Gore won 14/21 Counties to Bush's 7/21, 31/40 Legislative Districts to Bush's 9/40 and 10/13 Congressional Districts to Bush's 3/13
