The 2022 Democratic Primary in New York's 10th Congressional district, after redistricting joined the homes of Represenatives Nadler & Maloney, a new Lower Manhattan Southwestern Broklyn seat was created—resulting in a clown car primary to claim this Eternally democratic seat.
This contest that was won by Trump Impeachment council Daniel Goldman mostly because of the fact that multiple progressives, specifically Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou, Hudson Valley Congressman Mondaire Jones, and Council woman Carlina Rivera split the progressive vote in the seat.
However, this was not the only reason that Goldman won as—despite his endorsement by Donald Trump—Goldman enphasized his experience in impeaching the former president to highlight that he had the skills to fight republicans in congress and fight for NY-10.
Further, Goldman had the deep pockets to finance himself as an heir to the Levi Straus fortune.
This wealth also presented a potent attack as Assemblywoman Niou and Congressman Bowman accused Goldman of trying to buy the seat as a "conservative democrat"—highlighting that either would be a stronger progressive fighter for the seat
In the end, the vote splitting was too much, and with winning the liberal communities of West Village, SoHo, Battery Park and Dumbo Hights, as well as the conservative Orthodox Jewish community in Borogh Park, Goldman won.
In this, he was able to overpower Niou's support in the progressive communities of Prospect Heights, Park Slope, and Sunset Park West, as well as the Asian Community in Niou's base in Chinatown.
Note, Niou was unable to win the asian community in Sunset Park east, losing it to 7th place finnisher Jimmy Li
Also of note, Rivera performed well in the Puerto Rican community in the Lower east Side, and Mexican American Community in Sunset Park West
