The Swing in NJ's new 9th Congressional District: Home to Patterson and the heavy minority Latino Portions of Passaic County, the 9th Retains the Suburban WWC portions of Bergen County shedding the über blue Eastern portion for blue trenfing areas in Middlepassaic/Western Bergen County.
The Overall swing is reflected in this, as the Bergen Portion barely swung to Democrats between 2016-2020, the rest of the district swung against them - including an over 10% swing in Passaic mostly due to PAtterson and Passaic City.
Furthermore, the small amount of Hudsun that the district takes up also swung away from Democrats - mostly due to the Portion of Kearny that the District takes in.
While uncompetitive in 2022; The end result is that this (D)+19 District shifted 5% to the left in a manner that is unsustainable for Dems (unless they hold the Latino swing - or hold the South Bergen Working class - as there's only so much the few suburban towns added can do for Dems in this district.
