the 2021 PNP Special election for the Vacant At Large house seat vacated by Néstor Alonso Due to corruption charges placed on him before his term began was won by the Ex-Representative Jose "Che" Perez who lost in one of the Closest races in 2020 (House District 18)
Che Perez Won over Main Rival Alan McAbee a Conservative Republican whom received support from a variety of diferent PNP Mayors/Comittees, but was unable to beat Perez because the latter had both stronger support from the committees and mayors that supported him, and more name recognition that helped him over the line.
As Can be interpreted by the strength of the Machines, and own machine in the west (Getting over 80% in his old district) Che Won mainly thanks to the near Unanimous support of the PNP in Añasco, Rincón, Aguada, Aibonito, Camuy, Comerío, Gurabo and Loíza.
in addition to a scattering of support from other towns sorrounding them, or where there were committees that sought to help him, like in Precinto 1 (SJ), Jayuya, Orocovis, & Hatillo, among others.
Lastly, the Third Place Candidate - Jacqueline "Jackie" Rodriguez - a former aid to Gov. Pedro Pierluisi, came in third place because her showing in the south of the island between Guayama and the her bases in Ponce (the 25th District (her strongest District), which she represented in the house through the 2017-2020 Term) and Guayanilla brought her close, but wasn't enough due to her lacking support in the rest of the island.
